How it works
Create a room
Enter your name and create a room. The host sets categories, rounds and time in the lobby.
Invite friends
Send the link or the four-letter room code. Everyone plays on their own phone or computer.
Write and vote
Everyone fills in the categories, whoever is done calls stop. Then you vote on doubtful answers.
Rules and settings
Letter
Random, or like at the table: one player runs through the alphabet in their head, another says stop. Q, X and Y can be left out.
Categories
City, country, river, first name, job and animal are preset. Add brand, celebrity, movie/TV show and more, or your own.
Stop
After someone calls stop, the others get five more seconds to finish their word.
Voting
If the majority rejects an answer, it doesn't count. Answers with the wrong first letter are sorted out automatically.
Points
- Only valid answer in the category: 20
- Answer nobody else has: 10
- Same answer as someone else: 5
- Empty, wrong letter or rejected: 0

Can we play Name, Place, Animal, Thing online with friends?
Yes. One person creates a room and shares the link, everyone else joins in the browser. No app or account needed.
How many people can play?
Two to 16 players per room.
Can we use our own categories?
Yes. Three to ten categories per game, custom ones up to 24 characters.
Does it work over a video call?
Yes. Everyone plays on their own device, whether you're at the same table or on Discord or Zoom.
Does it cost anything?
No. Every game on Cozynyte is free and ad-free.
